... and getting yourself in festive mood.
I'm not really a Grinch, but every year I find it difficult to get into the Christmas spirit. All the consumerism surrounding the holiday and Black Friday on top just before itsn't really helpful.
However, there is one thing that reliably puts me in a the right mood, and that is when I make a few gifts myself.
The obvious advantages of this type of gift-giving:
Since I usually do scrap busting here, it's easy on the wallet and the environment.
These are gifts that are not available anywhere else, and the gifted to person knows this and appreciates it.
You can easily customise them to suit individual tastes.
It frees up space in the sewing space by reducing the amount of scraps and remnants around.
You can take this way little breaks from the Christmas rush, which are always in short supply at this time of year.
I develop a real sense of anticipation for giving memade gifts.
Pinterest offers lots of cool ideas for DIY gifts, but I've also been tinkering around a bit and am kicking this topic off today with my first tutorial, a totally cute and quick-to-sew sleep mask. Ideal for anyone who likes to travel, especially over the holidays.
You can download it for free in the shop.
Have fun with Luna and what's to come this month.
xx Anna
