To the cut
Alea has a relaxed fit that combines classic shirting style with feminine and modern elements.  The pattern is available in two lengths, as a blouse or as a dress with optional side slits. The dress can be gathered at the waist.  The oversized blouse is available with different sleeve variants.  A classic sleeve with a cuff, a sleeve with a gathered hem that can be varied in length and finish, or a sleeveless variant. Alea offers two collar variants, a classic shirt collar or a modern stand-up collar. Both variants can be worn open or closed. The cut includes an optional slanted patch pocket with flap.

It is recommended to take your own measurements and the finished size chart into account when choosing the size.  You can choose one size larger for a generous oversize look, or one size smaller for more waisting.  The blouse can be worn open or tucked into the pants. The dress can be worn loose, gathered at the waist with the included elastic   or simply with a belt or tie at the waist. 
 
The pattern is designed for a height of 170 cm. Length adjustments can be made by lengthening or shortening the marked lines. Due to the loose fit, Alea fits comfortably for a chest size A to G.



Alea is a pattern for advanced and ambitious beginners. It requires the following sewing skills.
  
- Button placket and cuff construction
- Folding
- Fold the hem twice
- Attach buttonhole and button
- Sew diagonally to the grain





 
Fabric recommendation
The Alea cut is designed for light to medium-weight woven goods such as linen, poplin, cotton, tencel, viscose or rayon. If you would like to sew the pattern more airy, choose a light fabric made from the materials mentioned above. Always prewash your fabric before sewing to prevent potential shrinkage.
